Free and premium mock exams

Each certification has one free mock exam and a set of premium mock exams. All of them are timed full-length exams scored the way the real exam is. The free mock exam is practice and never issues a certificate.

On demand, with no live support

Mock exams are on demand: start one whenever you choose, in your own browser. Nobody supervises it, and there is no live support while you take it. If your connection drops or the tab closes, your answers so far are kept and you can resume, but the timer keeps running, as it would in the real exam. For a problem you could not resolve, write to us through the Contact page afterwards.

Exam mode

Premium mock exams run in exam mode:

• Questions show in fullscreen where your device supports it.
• Leaving the exam (switching tab or app, focus moving to another window, or leaving fullscreen) counts as one exit until you come back. You have 60 seconds to return each time, and a countdown shows while you are away.
• A third exit, or any exit longer than 60 seconds, means that attempt can no longer earn a certificate. You can still finish it for practice.
• Your name and a short attempt code are shown in a small line at the bottom corner of the screen, and copying is turned off.

Earning a certificate

A premium mock exam earns a MockCert certificate when all of these hold:

• It is your first attempt at that mock exam. Retakes count as practice.
• You reach the pass mark.
• You spend at least a quarter of the time limit on it (29 minutes for a 115-minute exam).
• The exam-mode rules above are kept, and the answering pattern looks like a person reading the questions.

A certificate records a MockCert practice-assessment result. It is not a certification from any certification provider.

Your answers

Correct answers and explanations appear on your results page once you submit, never during the exam.

A question that asks for more than one answer counts as correct only when you pick every correct option and nothing else. Certification providers do not publish partial credit for these questions, so MockCert gives none.

What is recorded

For a premium mock exam, MockCert records when you left the exam and for how long, and the timing of your answers. These decide whether the attempt can earn a certificate. They are not shown on your public certificate.

What exam mode is not

Exam mode is not proctoring. There is no webcam, and a browser cannot see another device. The rules exist so that a MockCert certificate means the same thing for everyone who holds one.

Sharing questions

Mock exam questions are for your own practice. Sharing them, including as screenshots, breaks the Terms of use and can lead to certificates being revoked. For anything else, see the FAQ.
